It’s 2020 and time for us to have a clear vision about creating classroom equity. Co-facilitated by fellow Washington County educators, this virtually interactive workshop will help focus our sights on cultivating an equitable mindset with regards to school and classroom culture. Not only will participants learn practical classroom strategies, they will also have the opportunity to share with and learn from their colleagues about best practices. A discussion about ways to enhance the student experience in online courses that depend upon regular interaction between students and teacher.  We will consider: 

  • how to structure an online course in order to maximize student learning and engagement
  • ways to create a hybrid course that remains flexible in the face of uncertainty about class schedules
  • how to connect with students while maintaining socially distance
  • external resources available to teachers and students that increase face-to-face interaction while remaining flexible to different schedules and accessibility.

WHAT IS GOLD STANDARD PBL ~ K-12 Teachers new to PBL

Teachers will be introduced to PBLWork’s Gold Standard PBL framework and learn the Essential Design Elements that make up a high-quality project plan. Through resource exploration, video analysis and an orientation to the Essential Design Elements, teachers will leave knowing what Gold Standard PBL is and where to access resources to learn more about the framework as well as tips for using PBL remotely with students!

WHAT IS GOLD STANDARD PBL ~ K-12 Teachers who have attended the PBL101 Worksop

Teachers will share, discuss and solve common problems of practice associated with designing and implementing Gold Standard PBL with their students. Through the use of protocols and resource exploration, teachers will leave with specific actions to help solve their PBL implementation challenges. They will also receive info about how and where to learn more about the tech tools that support remote PBL!
