DESCRIPTION:    Do you want your vocabulary instruction to stick and stay in your students’ minds?  The first part of this session will demonstrate how using visuals, drawing pictures, and using Google Earth can enhance your instruction in word meaning, whether in isolation or context.  The second part will be discussing techniques for teaching synonyms, antonyms and homophones.  Please bring your favorite reading passages to create meaningful vocabulary questions that will match the rigor of our standards.  Each teacher will leave with a plethora of ready-to-use activities for the upcoming school year.

BRING YOUR LAPTOP & vocabulary lessons for stories you teach every year to create visual PowerPoints.
